The site.
Have you ever tried to write a speech or even a simple poem? Well let me tell you, unless writing is second nature to you, its maybe best to have an experienced writer do this task.
Hi, my name is Ben Gunn. No, I’m not a pirate, but a retired painter. I’ve dabbled in writing just a bit and as of late joined a site which seems to have helped me become a better writer. I also get paid for it, keeping 70% of any writing project that comes my way. But…
Last summer just before my engagement, I wanted to somehow craft a custom poem for my girlfriend, Nina. After about two glasses of fine wine and a few walkabouts I came up with absolutely nothing. My floor became littered with what I thought would be my flagship poem, my new career, but instead it looked like a 3rd graders attempt at Humpty Dumpty. What a mess. Any author or poet would have laughed themselves silly with what I came up with, total rubbish.
So out of necessity I seek council. My friend Dan told me about DogHousePoetry.com.
Long story short- ‘These guys blew my socks off’.
So the 1st thing I did was join. Why not? It’s free and took less than a minute. I then looked around and read a bunch of poems and found one fiction piece which caused me to cry with laughter. “The Pirates of the Matterhorn,” by hager. You just have to read it! It’s a Must Do. Talk about funny!
So anyway, where was I?
Oh, so in my continuing quest for a poem all I did was fill out a questionnaire and waited for a writer to get in touch with me. In my case that very same day a writer sent me a post. We discussed the direction of the poetry and came to the conclusion that a poem/letter would be the best approach. At that point I paid for my order as required, and just a few days later the writer sent me a final draft for approval. My goodness gracious, talk about accurate, this woman had penned it as if my own hand had written it.
DogHousePoetry.com has a team of writers versed in all fields, from editing to fiction and so on, and what is interesting is that it’s really not a team but individuals who love to write coming from all areas of the world. The woman who wrote my piece was from Tasmania, go figure. I had to look it up on the map to make sure it was still there.
So if you find yourself in a situation where you need a writer to add sparkle to your ideas and thoughts then you might want to check out DogHousePoetry.com.
The other aspect of DogHousePoetry.com, which is a biggie, is that the volunteer writers write poems and love letters for any active military person, upon their request, and these poems and letters are crafted, and then sent back to the soldier so that they can send it home. The way the owner of the site explains it is, "there is someone crawling in the dirt right now for you and I, and war be it good or bad, leaves families apart and relationships strained, so for us write a poetic love letter is the least we can do to support these troops. All nations have military and all have writers, so why not band together as a writers nation, and give.
PS… If you are a writer then I suggest you join because they also review, each others writing and are ranked and rated.
PPS… The writers on DogHousePoetry.com paint pictures using words, and if you look closer, the scenery in the background is just as you had envisioned, breathtaking.
